Havening Technique®

Havening Technique® is a gentle, evidence-informed psychosensory therapy designed to help reduce stress, anxiety, and emotional distress. Using light touch and guided techniques, it supports the brain in calming emotional responses and promoting wellbeing. Safe, non-invasive, and suitable for adults and children.

If your nervous system is constantly on high alert, talking it through isn’t always enough. That’s where Havening can help.

Havening Technique ® is a gentle, neuroscience-based technique that helps your brain and body feel safe again. Using simple, soothing touch (which you can even do yourself), it calms the nervous system and helps release emotional distress that’s been “stuck” in the body.

People use Havening to help with:

·        Processing trauma and difficult or distressing memories

·        Anxiety, phobias, panic attacks

·        Overwhelm and stress

·        PTSD

·        Chronic pain

·        Sleep difficulties and nervous system dysregulation

·        Self esteem

·        Relationship challenges (including to/between children)

·        Behavioural challenges

·        Experiences such as bullying or emotional harm

·        Anger, abandonment, abuse

·        Cravings, addiction

It works by sending a powerful “you are safe” signal to the brain — allowing emotional charge to soften and settle, often more quickly than expected.
